THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION!

Today, THURSDAY: 1/30/13

LA City Council will vote on whether to pass the Community Care Facilities Ordinance (CCFO) into policy.

Join the LA Human Right to Housing Collective and UNION DE VECINOS at the

RALLY TO STOP THE CCFO

CITY HALL: 8:30AM

Although the ordinance has drawn mass criticism and united an unprecedentedly diverse 151 strong coalition that includes housing advocates, apartment owners, labor, business, over 20 neighborhood councils, foundations, faith, government agencies (click here to see the full list: http://www.stopccfo.org/groups-against-ccfo.html), it’s champion, Mitch Englander has insisted on pushing it through to a council vote by any means possible. Make no mistake, the claims by Englander that he has addressed the StopCCFO Coalition’s concerns and incorporated them into the latest draft of the ordinance are absolutely FALSE.:

CCFO Will:

Segregate communities

Increase homelessness

Cost the city & its taxpayers $$$MILLIONS$$$

By prohibiting shared housing options in low density zones the CCFO will force thousands upon thousands of currently housed individuals into high density neighborhoods & onto the streets thus increasing the demand on affordable housing, homeless, medical, municipal and other services in neighborhoods where these resources are already scarce. Plain and simple: THE CCFO IS BAD PUBLIC POLICY- that is why so groups CONTINUE TO OPPOSE IT.

PLEASE JOIN US TOMORROW MORNING AT 8:30 AM AT CITY HALL
