YOU ARE INVITED!

Join us in our Fundraising for “Empowering the Boyle Heights Immigrant Community”

FEATURING:

Conversation between Yareli Arizmendi & Sergio Arau, the creative forces behind the film, “A Day Without A Mexican”
Moderated by Leonardo Vilchis, Co-Director, Union de Vecinos.

We all have rights regardless whether we are citizens or undocumented immigrants in the United States. Following President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders on immigration, immigrant communities have taken a strong stand against deportation and family separation. Powerful examples of resistance and empowerment have been the ongoing rallies against discrimination, prejudices, and xenophobia nationwide before and after Trump took office.

Protests like “A Day Without Immigrants”, that happened in many cities in mid-February, highlighted the vital contributions of immigrants to U.S. business, religion, and culture. Let us not forget that almost 3 million of people got deported, while thousands more were separated, during the government of Obama.

This is why communities have to stay united, empowered, and strive together for an inclusive immigration reform. In support of our immigrant community, families, and Dreamers, I am hosting a special event to bring awareness, resilience, and empowerment, at the same time fundraising to support Union de Vecinos, a non-profit community organization that has organized and protected families in Boyle Heights for 21 years.

Come and learn more about your rights!
